CLIMATE | Sansevieria is a hardy houseplant that thrives in bright light, but can also tolerate partial shade. The ideal temperature is 20°–30°C during the day and 15°–20°C at night. It dislikes drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations. It can be placed outside in the summer, but direct, intense midday sun should be avoided.

WATERING | Sansevieria is a succulent, so water it moderately. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Water even less in winter – about once every 3–4 weeks. Overwatering can cause root rot. Always check that there is no water accumulating in the pot.

FERTILIZATION | During the active growing season (spring–summer), Sansevieria can be fertilized once a month with a fertilizer for green plants or cacti. In winter, stop fertilizing. Excessive fertilization is not recommended.

SOIL | Requires a permeable and well-drained soil, such as a cactus or succulent substrate. A mixture with sand, perlite or expanded clay can be used to improve drainage. Heavy and water-retentive soil should be avoided.

NOTES | Sansevieria is very easy to care for and suitable even for beginners. However, do not overwater the plant – it tolerates drought better than overwatering. Regularly clean the leaves from dust so that the plant can breathe. Watch for brown spots on the leaves, as these may indicate watering errors or pests.
